Harvest notes: In the last week of September over several days I collected and dried in the Equi-flow Food Dehydrator at 135F enough Yaupon to fill about 12 quart jars with uncrushed leaf. Two runs on the dehydrator a day, for six days, and later separating leaf from stem, and grinding in a coffee grinder, I reckon that to be about 8 hours of labor (more if you count the hours I've spent grooming the groves of vines and spanish moss). This weighed in at 2 pounds 10 ounces, or 1.2 kilograms. In the month of October I consumed ten ounces by myself, brewing usually 9 tbs (1.5 oz, or 42 g) into a gallon of water about every third day. And sometimes reboiling the grounds in a half gallon of water with a fresh addition of 3 tbs Yaupon powder..
